BUQ is a SaaS startup which helps automate ecommerce for clients. We do this through our technology first approach to business. By combining payments, fulfilment and customer service clients can “outsource” all operational aspects of selling online.
Learn more about BUQ
You’ll be working directly with the founder as the “first developer in” and responsible for the development of our systems. We work with extreme freedom but expect a high level of delivery and fast development. Both will be important factors in the success of the role and of the client projects.
As the full-stack developer you will work with the founder to design and execute the technical direction for BUQ. This business focuses on automating ecommerce – making selling online simple.
You’ll be working collaboratively with BUQ’s clients to ensure we deliver software which enables their businesses to scale. You will have a high level of accountability for the successful growth of the business.
This is a ‘roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty’ type of role.
If you’re looking to just tell others what to do, this is NOT the role or company for you.
You and your team mates have full decision-making authority over the direction of BUQ and you will gain exposure to budgeting, financial support, mentorship, entrepreneurship and more.
We are team shaped – supporting clients and tother group companies is a crucial part of our culture. And we are radically inclusive – so we will expect you to get involved and support other people and teams along the way.
We’re an ambitious, driven, and diverse bunch. We work hard and we love what we do. Our work is challenging, fulfilling, fun, and a very important part of our lives. If this sounds like you, we can offer you an exciting role in a friendly, innovative and dynamic business.
We’ll provide you with a flexible, supportive, non-hierarchical working environment where your contribution is encouraged and your voice will be heard. Where you can work your way, and be yourself. We’ll invest in your development, encourage your ideas and reward your efforts. It goes without saying that we work together, as one big team.
Here’s what you’ll get for showing up to work (and working hard, obvs):
Our purpose is to create limitless opportunities. Want to become a millionaire? Sure thing! Want to develop your skills in a different direction? Done.
Whatever your ambitions, we have your back. If you are highly motivated and self driving, we will support you all the way.
Even better… Can you help create opportunities for other team members? If you can, you’ll be welcomed with open arms.
First, make sure you agree with our core values. These are super important to us. If our values excite and inspire you and you reckon this is the place for you, get your skates on and apply now before someone else beats you to it.
You can expect to hear from us within two working days to let you know whether or not you’ve been invited to interview. And if you’ve read this far, you’ll know by now that we’re not your average company, so you won’t expect an average interview process. It’s totally unique, but thoroughly enjoyable – promise!
Remote working? Sure, why not?!
We have clusters of team members in Nottingham (UK), Palma (Spain) and we’d love for you to spend time working with others in co-working spaces, but most people work from home. We’ve got a growing bunch of remote workers based all over the world, so we’ll consider applications from anywhere. All we ask is:
What are “all hands” weeks? These are week-long events where team members near and far descend on a location and spend a week collaborating, socialising and having a good laugh. It’s pretty awesome.
We can achieve so much more in a much smaller time frame when we’re all together. And it’s super important for connecting with and building strong relationships with your teammates Especially for our remote workers – it’s kinda difficult to know someone through a screen, don’t you think? Meeting your teammates face to face on the reg is the best way to really get to know them.
Team members agree that all-hands weeks make us work better together! (plus, face-to-face banter is way better)
This is all really important to us, so it’s kinduv non-negotiable.
Recruitment agencies – sorry, but nope.
