What will you be doing?

You’ll be working directly with the founder as the “first developer in” and responsible for the development of our systems. We work with extreme freedom but expect a high level of delivery and fast development. Both will be important factors in the success of the role and of the client projects.

As the full-stack developer you will work with the founder to design and execute the technical direction for JuicyLlama. This business focuses on technology and sales – supporting both together is the key.

You’ll be working collaboratively with JuicyLlama’s customers to ensure we deliver software which enables their businesses to scale. You will have a high level of accountability for the successful growth of the business.

This is a ‘roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty’ type of role.

If you’re looking to just tell others what to do, this is NOT the role or company for you.

You and your team mates have full decision-making authority over the direction of JuicyLlama and you will gain exposure to budgeting, financial support, mentorship, entrepreneurship and more.

We are team shaped – supporting clients and tother group companies is a crucial part of our culture. And we are radically inclusive – so we will expect you to get involved and support other people and teams along the way.

  • Regular communication on Jira tasks, with clients and to the founder

  • Build a deep understanding of our clients (we are also our own clients) to constantly improve the product

This role might be the one for you if:

  • You have a real passion for software development and problem solving
  • You have a self-driving and self-motivating personality
  • You love a challenge, you thrive on uncertainty and you can keep your cool in any given situation (because as you know, in business, shit can happen)

  • You have experience developing SaaS applications
  • You have a real interest in technology, sales and SaaS

  • You’re eager to learn new things and stay on top of current development trends
  • You’re not afraid of hard work and you’re ready to put the hours, blood, sweat and yes, maybe even tears, into something which in turn will help you achieve your ultimate ambitions

It’d also be cool (but not absolutely necessary) if...

  • You have helped build community products previously
  • You have experience building technology products inside AWS infrastructure
  • You enjoy working in an agile, sprinting fashion and have had experience working in this way previously
  • You attend conferences, training and local meet-ups related to digital marketing or technology

Opportunities without limitations

Our purpose is to create limitless opportunities. Want to become a millionaire? Sure thing! Want to develop your skills in a different direction? Done.

Whatever your ambitions, we have your back. If you are highly motivated and self driving, we will support you all the way.

Even better… Can you help create opportunities for other team members? If you can, you’ll be welcomed with open arms.

First, make sure you agree with our core values. These are super important to us. If our values excite and inspire you and you reckon this is the place for you, get your skates on and apply now before someone else beats you to it.

Here’s how to apply:

  1. Email your CV to “andy.slack@juicyllama.com” with the subject: “JuicyLlama Full Stack JS Developer”, include a few paragraphs about yourself, for example, who are you? why do you love JS? what do you enjoy doing outside of work?
  2. Sit back, chill out, and wait for us to get in touch.

And this is what’ll happen next:

You can expect to hear from us within two working days to let you know whether or not you’ve been invited to interview. And if you’ve read this far, you’ll know by now that we’re not your average company, so you won’t expect an average interview process. It’s totally unique, but thoroughly enjoyable – promise!

Remote working? Sure, why not?!

We’ve got a growing bunch of remote workers based all over the world, so we’ll consider applications from anywhere. All we ask is:

  • Should you be invited, you will attend an interview either remotely or at a location suitable for both
  • If you bag the job, you might be asked to spend your first two working weeks at a specific location (we’ll pay your travel and accommodation expenses) so we can get you properly onboarded and making friends with your fellow team members
  • You attend our “all-hands on deck” weeks – the location for these changes from quarter to quarter

What are “all hands” weeks? These are week-long events where team members near and far descend on a location and spend a week collaborating, socialising and having a good laugh. It’s pretty awesome.

We can achieve so much more in a much smaller time frame when we’re all together. And it’s super important for connecting with and building strong relationships with your teammates Especially for our remote workers – it’s kinda difficult to know someone through a screen, don’t you think? Meeting your teammates face to face on the reg is the best way to really get to know them.

Team members agree that all-hands weeks make us work better together! (plus, face-to-face banter is way better)

This is all really important to us, so it’s kinduv non-negotiable.

Recruitment agencies – sorry, but nope.
